NEW HOURS for the Cairo Museum!
The Supreme Council of Antiquities announced
today, April 10, 2002 that the Egyptian Museum in Cairo will be open
everyday from 9am until 7pm. Dr. Zahi Hawass, the
Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities said,
that the new extended hours of the Museum will make it possible for all
the tourist that are staying down town to see the Museum once or twice
while they are here. In the
evening the Egyptian artifacts will be displayed in an elegant and
beautiful way. Also, the new hours should increase the ticket sales and
this money can be used for the conservation and restoration of the
Egyptian monuments.
